Who we are

POPCUT is provided by PopcutAi, Mulla Agani 7, Kosovo. We're the controller of the personal data described here. Questions or requests: support@popcut.ai.

What we collect

  • Account details — your email, name and profile picture, and which sign-in method you use.
  • Your videos — the files you upload, their transcripts, the edits and renders we make, and any brand assets you add.
  • Billing — your plan, usage and invoices. Card details go straight to Paddle; we never see or store them.
  • Usage and device data — pages and features you use, browser and device type, IP address, and error reports.
  • Messages — what you send us when you contact support.

How we use it

We use your data to run your account and make your edits (to perform our contract with you), to bill you and meet tax and accounting rules (legal obligation), and to keep POPCUT secure, fix bugs and understand which features help (our legitimate interests). We email you about your account and videos; we only send marketing if you agree, and you can unsubscribe anytime.

We don't train AI models on your footage, and we don't sell your personal data.

Who we share it with

We use these providers to run POPCUT. Each only gets what it needs to do its job:

  • Paddle — payments, invoices and tax (merchant of record)
  • Cloudflare R2 — storing your uploads and finished videos
  • Railway — hosting our servers and database
  • OpenAI and Anthropic — transcribing speech, planning edits and generating voiceovers — under terms that don't let them train on your data
  • Resend — sending sign-in links and account emails
  • Sentry — error reports, with on-screen text and inputs masked
  • PostHog — product analytics; cookies and session recordings only if you accept them, with anything you type masked
  • Google and Apple — sign-in, only if you choose it

Some of them process data outside your country, including in the United States. Where that happens we rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. We may also disclose data when the law requires it.

Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and remember basic app state. These are needed for POPCUT to work, so they're always on.

Analytics cookies and session recordings (PostHog) only run if you accept them in the cookie banner. They show which pages and features get used and how you move through the app, with anything you type masked. If you haven't chosen yet or you decline, we only count page visits anonymously, without cookies or recordings. You can change your choice anytime from Cookie settings in the site footer or under Settings › Privacy. We also honour your browser's Do Not Track setting.

If something breaks, Sentry gets an error report, with on-screen text, inputs and media masked, so we can fix it. We don't use advertising cookies or sell data to ad networks.

How long we keep it

  • When you delete a video, it's purged from our storage within 24 hours.
  • When you delete your account, you have 7 days to change your mind — we email you a link to undo it. After that your profile, videos and takes are deleted permanently.
  • Invoices and billing records are kept as long as tax law requires.
  • Error reports and analytics are kept for a limited time and then deleted or anonymised.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct, export or delete your data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent you've given. You can delete videos and your whole account yourself in the app; for anything else email support@popcut.ai and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

Security and children

We encrypt data in transit, keep your uploads private by default and limit who on our side can access them. POPCUT isn't meant for anyone under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy in a meaningful way we'll email you or show a notice in the app. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
